Gambia, 1942-43, Pair of censored envelopes from Bathurst to Great Britain, the first cover 1942 (Aug. 17) franked with ½d and 2d, showing superb "Crown/Passed/INN/7219" framed handstamp (type 4B) in blue, predating the earliest date recorded by Martin and Walton, and 1943 (May 15) registered cover bearing 6d and 1sh, showing light strike of "Crown/Passed/NN/3" framed handstamp (type 4A) in violet; a few minor imperfections or age spots, otherwise Fine to Very Fine.
