H.C. Andersen. 1866 Envelope written by H.C. Andersen and sent from Lisbon in Portugal to Copenhagen 19 July 1866. Addressed to "Her Grace Mrs. Chamberlain Neergaard, born Olsen". Very nice and beautiful Portuguese 3-color franking, 25 Reis, red, 50 reis, green and 100 Reis, purple. All stamps full margined and flawless. H.C. Andersen resided in Portugal from early May to mid-August 1866 and this letter is mentioned in the poet's own almanac for the month of July 1866. "July 18 - Letter to Mrs. Neergaard" and July 19 "Was in Lisbon and wandered about". Unique letter in perfect quality. ÷ H.C.
