1941-47 Covers (4) and postcards (3) with slogan cancels, comprising 1941 "FOR BRITAIN, JUSTICE / AND FREEDOM - BUY / SAVINGS CERTIFICATES" (4), "LEND FOR LIBERTY / BUY SAVINGS / CERTIFICATES" or "SERVE BY LENDING / BUY SAVINGS / CERTIFICATES"; and 1947 (Sep 7) "BERMUDA / AFTER THE WAR / THE SAME / ENCHANTED ISLANDS". This last slogan unrecorded by Proud, whilst the Bermuda Specialised Catalogue states "used on one collection in late 1946. This cancellation was not officially authorised and only a few examples are believed to have been made, none of which appear to have survived", which is clearly incorrect. (7). Photo on Page 70.
