1901-02 Covers (2) and a front, to P.O.Ws in Bermuda, including 1902 cover franked G.B 1d from Aberdeen to "Gordon P. Fraser, Prisoner of War, Morgans Island, Bermudas" (Fraser, a Scotsman, was brother in law of President Steyn of the O.F.S) and cover franked 3d from Pretoria to Tuckers Island but endorsed "Not Tuckers", both with blue circular "PRISONERS OF WAR / PASSED / CENSOR / BERMUDA". Fine and unusual; very little ingoing mail received a Bermuda censor cachet. (3).

Local Mail. 1902 (Mar 6) Cover franked 1d from Hamilton to "Mr W. Honicke, P of W, Darrells I." with blue circular "PRISONERS OF WAR / PASSED / CENSOR / BERMUDA". Fine and scarce, very few covers to P.O.Ws recorded posted within Bermuda.

1901-02 Covers from Cape Colony addressed to "Revd A. van Blerk, Chaplain to P. of W., Bermuda", "Percy Lionel Mader, P.O.W 14592, Doris Villa, Darrells Island" or "Louis Le Thiec, c/o Comdt in Charge of Prisoners of War, Bermudas" (registered, faults). Three unusual addresses; the Rev. van Blerk was confined to Hawkins Island early in 1902 following a breach of security. (3).

Registered Mail. 1902 Registered covers from South Africa to Bermuda, comprising a Cape cover strangely franked 6½d with ½d + 1d (6), a Cape 4d registration envelope franked 2d, and cover with 2½d Transvaal pair, the first to Burtts Island with blue circular "PRISONERS OF WAR / PASSED / CENSOR / BERMUDA", the last to Hawkins Island. Holland. 1902 (May 15/16) Covers from Holland to Burtts Island, both franked 12½c, one with violet circular "PRISONERS OF WAR / PASSED / CENSOR / BERMUDA", the other with a light but clear strike of the scarce circular "PRISONERS OF WAR / PASSED CENSOR / 2 / BERMUDA". (2).

S.S "Armenian"/"Ranee". 1901 Covers from Transvaal to P.O.Ws on the "Armenian" (2) or "Ranee" all redirected to Bermuda, one only franked ½d with "T" and "1d" charge marks. Also an O.F.S cover to Belle Vue Camp, redirected to the "Armenian", the first ship to carry prisoners (including the addressee) to Bermuda. The "Ranee" cover with some faults, otherwise fine. (4).

Convict Mail/S.S "Ranee". 1901 Cover from a convict at Eshowe, Zululand, signed and endorsed by the Governor of the Central Gaol at Eshowe, addressed to a P.O.W on board S.S "Ranee" at Durban, redirected "c/o M.T.O, Point" and again to Bermuda with a Hamilton arrival backstamp, a Natal 1d cancelled at Point. Very unusual.

Belle Vue/Green Point Camps. 1901 Covers from Mafeking to Green Point Track redirected to Bermuda; Paarl to Belle Vue but endorsed "Not Bellevue" and redirected to Bermuda; or from Brandfort to Green Point Camp redirected to Simonstown, endorsed "Not Bellevue" and again redirected to Bermuda. (3).

Tin Town, Ladysmith. 1901 Cover from Lydenburg with three G.B 1d lilacs cancelled at F.P.O 25, addressed to "R. Oppermann, Prisoner of War, Island of Bermuda, c/o Staff Officer, Prisoners of War, Ladysmith"; 1d postcard from Krugersdorp to Tintown Camp redirected to Bermuda; and cover from Mossel Bay to Tin Town redirected to Bermuda, endorsed "not Darrells", "not Tuckers" and "not Burtts" and directed to "A Camp" (probably Ahmednagar), circular "PRISONERS OF WAR / PASSED / CENSOR / LADYSMITH" and "PRISONERS OF WAR / PASSED / CENSOR / BERMUDA". (3).

Burgher Camp/Ceylon. 1901 Cover from Standerton Burgher Camp to Bermuda, red oval "BURGHER CAMP / 9 AUG 1901 / STANDERTON" signed by the Camp Superintendent, endorsed "Passed Press Censor". Missent to Ceylon, endorsed "Unclaimed Diyatalawa Camp" with Diyatalawa M.O & S.B backstamp, directed to Bermuda in blue crayon. Burgher Camp. 1901 Covers from Irene Burgher Camp both with violet oval "BURGHER CAMP / Censored / IRENE", addressed to P.O.Ws at Durban (one to the "Montrose"), one redirected to Bermuda with manuscript "not Hawkins", "Not Tuckers", "not Darrells" and "not Burtts", the other with a "Bermuda" endorsement crossed out and replaced by "Madras" but still sent to Bermuda with blue circular "PRISONERS OF WAR / PASSED / CENSOR / BERMUDA", endorsed "not Darrells" and "Burtts Is". India. 1902 (Jan 21) 1a Postcard from Thomas Pitt, P.O.W at Umballa, to W. Honicke in Bermuda, blue oval "BOER CAMP / UMBALLA" cachet with manuscript "censored", initials and date, datestamps of Umballa, Sea Post Office and Hamilton. India. 1902 (Apr 5) Cover with India 1a endorsed "POW", from Bellary Camp to Bermuda, handstamped red "NOT TUCKERS", reverse with part Bellary censor cachet. India/Ceylon. 1901 Stampless cover apparently from a P.O.W at Ahmednagar to another prisoner at Diyatalawa, reverse with datestamps of Ahmednagar (July 23), Colombo and Diyatalawa Camp, endorsed "unclaimed in Diyatalawa Camp", directed to various Indian Camps with censor cachets of Ahmednagar, Trichinopoly (2 types) and Bellary, directed to St. Helena but then sent to Bermuda, endorsed "not Burtts", "not Darrells" and "not Hawkins".
