1925: 1 Anna brown, tied by very rare "TUERIJ" double circle on underfranked picture postcard depicting the customs house and endorsed printed matter to the US. The stamp has a couple of short/missing perfs. Due to the underfranking the "TUERIJ POSTAGE DUE ONE ANNA" mark is also applied. On the address side a transit mark "HILLAH" and a "NEW YORK 6 CENTS DUE" cachet can be found together with two pre-cancelled "GARFIELD NJ" postage due stamps. A very scarce card. Proud = 250 pts. 1925-1942: Batch of ten covers, going on the Baghdad Haifa overland Route. This includes a letter from "AL KHOBAR", Saudi Arabia via Bahrain to the US a letter from Baghdad to Damascus with tied red "OVERLAND MAIL" label, as well as two further letters bearing the same label. There is also mail from Persia via this route endorsed "Service transdesertique via Bagdhad", as well as incoming mail the other way.
