1855 Type 2 XF. The 8 in the date is weak typical of the issue. A slight depression in the L obv field makes the coin's surface look a bit uneven. Nonetheless, a nice original for the scarce Type 2 gold dollar. (Image)

1854 Liberty NGC AU58. Scarce "No Motto" issue w/ a mintage of only 54,250. Virtually unknown in true mint state, the PCGS population report shows less than 200 in all grades, the highest being MS64. (Probably 50% of that number are re-submissions.) An excellent opportunity for the advanced gold collector. (Image)

1883 Liberty PCGS MS63 pedigreed to The Fairmont Collection. Minted to the extent of 208,000 pieces, this issue is quite scarce in any mint state grade. The present example is a very well-struck original and quite attractive as such. (Image)
1926 Indian NGC MS63 (old small-font holder.) Beautiful original color and worthy of a higher grade by modern standards. (Image)

1926 lovely MS60+ but there are two small (2mm) obv scratches on the coin - one just off the Indian's nose to the rim, the other just left of the 1 in the date. Still appealing. (Image)
