Sir Walter Scott. 1807 (July 26) Part letter written and signed by Scott, sent free to the Marquis of Abercorn in London and redirected to Ferry Bridge, a little splitting at folds, a good autograph. Also 1808 entire letter from Henry Dundas in Downing St., sent free to Edinburgh, the letter referring to Water Scott, one of the Clerks of the Court of Session. (2).

Novelty Shaped Postcards. 1910-22 Cards containing fold-out views, with a stamp applied directly to the card, most sent at the ½d book-post rate, including cards in the shape of a train, car, teddy bear, golliwog, fish, shell, charabanc, horse drawn coach, bathing hut, sailing boat, bathing tent, swan, aeroplane, seaside scenes, lifeboat man, young lady, soldier, clock, post box, donkey, Welsh maid, etc. (31).

Novelty Shaped Postcards. 1909-24 Cards containing fold-out views all with a separate address tag attached by string, virtually all dated 1909-12, sent at the ½d book-post rate, one extraordinary card with a real walnut shell attached containing rolled-up views of Edinburgh tied together with string, other cards in the shape of a roller skate, Norfolk wherry, Cornish pasty, telescope, pie, sailing boat, lifeboat, donkeys, hats, soldiers, stocking, leaf, shoe, baby, fish, medicine bottle, fir cone, policeman, shamrock, fly, ship, rose, golliwog, aeroplane, hands, teddy bear, basket, crab, shells, dog, bathing tent or hut, cooking pot, biscuit, etc., also one unused card with "Lands End" cachet. A fine and unusual collection. (45).

Novelty Shaped Postcards. 1912-28 Cards containing fold-out view, comprising 1912 card depicting coaches in the Lake District franked ½d, 1917 card depicting an airship and aeroplane posted unpaid, and 1928 card in the shape of a biscuit with tie-on address tag franked 1d, all three charged 1d postage due. Novelty Shaped Postcards - Exhibitions. 1908-11 Cards comprising Valentine Series "Giant Post Card" for the Ballymaclinton, Franco-British or Japan-British (2) Exhibition all sent at the ½d book-post rate, with exhibition cancels; long panoramic cards for the Scottish National Exhibition at Edinburgh (2) or Franco-British Exhibition all franked ½d, two with exhibition cancels, two with messages therefore charged 1d postage due; unused Coronation Exhibition cards in the shape of a Scottish soldier or boy wearing a kilt (missing tie-on address tags), and an unused 1911 Glasgow Scottish Exhibition card in the shape of a sailing ship. Novelty Shaped Postcards - Japan-British Exhibition. 1910 Postcards in the shape of a Japanese boy, Japanese Pavilion or shoes all containing fold-out views of the exhibition, with tie-on address tags franked ½d (2) or 1d (to Germany), two with exhibition cancels, one of these charged 1d postage due, unusual.
