1895 1d blue postal card with advertising for Havelock Tobacco and Foster's Beer local commercial usage at Melbourne on NO20/95, bumped corners; plus an unused example with minor soiling. [The infamous 'Beer n Baccy' card was issued 1.11.1895 but caused such a public outcry, especially from the Temperance Movement, that all stocks were withdrawn on 19.11.1895. This usage is the first day after that]

1904 Undivided Back chromolitho cards for Bensdorp's Royal Dutch Cocoa & Confectionery each with 'Sole Importer/ A LEIBNER/Melbourne' incorporated in the design, two feature pipe-smoking, a few blemishes, one postally used at 'BERWICK', the others unused.

1909 FW Niven advertising card for The Melbourne Coffee Palace, minor soiling on the back, to Wagga Wagga (NSW) & forwarded to 'GANMAIN' (arrival cds). A lovely 'Niven'. [The Coffee House Movement originated in Scotland. The aim was to provide hotel accommodation without the lure of liquor. By 1888 there were more than 50 of these temperance establishments in Melbourne alone]
1910 (c.) real photo with Kodak back of an impressive derailment of a railway locomotive & passenger carriages with numerous bystanders (passengers?), diagonal crease at left doesn't greatly detract, unused. The location is believed to be in Victoria, and possibly in Gippsland.
1910 (c.) postcard-size advertising card for Young's Customs Brokers & Forwarding Agents with a great photo of the firm's fleet of delivery trucks line-up outside their premises at the Flinders Street Viaduct (aka the Banana Alley Vaults). Superb!
1934 'FIRST AUSTRALIAN AUTOGIRO FLIGHT/...' flown Melbourne-Portland with KGV 1½d brown cancelled on arrival with 'MOO PORTLAND/VIC' cds, unusually fine.

Ballarat District: 1910 HI Summerscales (Ballarat) untitled card of a traction engine pulling three carts laden with wooden slats, & a portable loo (?), used; plus a different coloured version of the same photo titled 'Mount Warrenheip near Ballarat', unused. Very fine pair. [The engine has a nameplate 'GEORGE'. It was manufactured by the Leeds firm John Fowler Steam Plough Works]

Berringa: 1912 real photo of a premises destroyed by fire, very fine used under cover, the message headed "Berringa" states "...This...is what is left of the Kangaroo plant..." [The town was known as Kangaroo into 1900. Gold mining was the major industry & the 'Kangaroo plant' was probably related to this activity. Golden Plains Shire]
Diamond Creek: WG Gray advice card with photo of staff at Allwood Nurseries preparing large orders for transport, to Abbotsford with KGV 1½d tied by Melbourne slogan cancel, corner crease. An exceptional advertising card. [The nursery was renowned for supplying exotic plants from around the world]
Gippsland: Scenery at or near Wilson's Promontory, San Remo, Beaconsfield, Tarra Valley, Inverloch, Bulga Park, etc, many are real photo types, generally fine to very fine used or unused.
