Cat No:1969 $1 FRNs

1969 & 1969A $1 FRNs (Rich) both Gem CU w/ Dorothy Andrews Elston and Dorothy Andrews Kabis courtesy signatures. These are accompanied by copies of the letters that were sent w/ the bills to well-known Delaware collector Jules Reiver. Dorothy Andrews Elston Kabis hailed from Delaware and served as Treasurer of the US from 1969 to 1971. She married Walter Kabis in 1970 and her name change forced the issuance of the 1969A series of notes later that year with the Kabis - Kennedy signature combination. Her term ended abruptly when she died of a heart attack in 1971 at the age of 54. Interesting items of local interest!
