Picturesque Tasmania Letter Card (published by J Walch & Sons) with printed 'Postage Rates' at U/R, gummed & perforated at edges in the manner of Post Office issue Letter Cards, 'Government House, Hobart' view on back and 'Mt Wellington from Huon Road' & 'Port Arthur' views inside, folded writing paper stapled in between, unused, rusted staple, re-inforced corners and minor blemishes. Ex Dr Owen Ingles. An interesting forerunner/competitor to the Post Office issues (which featured only one view).
1908 FW Niven & Co (Melbourne) 'LADIES GRAMMAR SCHOOL ALBUERA ST HOBART', soiling on the back, used under cover. [The school was founded in 1895 by Eleanor Mary Poulett-Harris and in 1903 moved to 4-6 Albuera Street. Her father had been prominent in the founding of Hobart High School and the University of Tasmania]
1908 Franco-British Exhibition 'AN APPLE TROPHY' some 20 feet in height comprised almost entirely of apples! with imprint of John Vail, Goverment Printer, minor blemishes, used under cover.

Hobart: 1906 Tasmanian Tourist Association 'CEREMONY CLOCK AND CHIMES OPENING, HOBART 23rd JUNE 1906' featuring the Town Hall clocktower, the Bell before being installed, and a row of dignitaries with the Union Jack (hello! It's 5½ years after Federation!), very fine used.
