German Army's 11th SS Volunteer Armored Crenatorial Division Nordland - sleeve badge, officer model. The unit was part of the Waffen-SS and was an armored unit made up of foreign volunteers, established on March 22, 1942 from Freikorps Danmark, the Freiwilligen-Legion Norwegen, and the SS-Wiking SS armored crew regiment from Nordland. Later, the main part of the division was made up of German soldiers. The department was abolished at the end of the war in May 1945. The length of the sleeve badge is about cm 48, i.e. full-length, not shortened, because the original SS / RZM badges were sewn with hem at both ends. Width approx. 28 mm. The name Nordland is a unit of black (so-called soft = rayon) wool skillfully embroidered by hand. Behind the sleeve badge, a protective piece fabric sewn over it protects the hand embroidery. The edges of the ribbon have two silver-gray seven-stripe braided ribbons along the entire length of the sleeve badge. Left SS / RZM mark "380" No. 42 (3) 2 (3) XXX and right SS / RZM mark "467" No. "203675". The sleeve badge is rarer - 1st model 1940 - than its second and third variation: machine embroidered (so-called flatfire) 1943-45 sleeve badge. It was worn in the right cuff, usually 15 cm from the sleeve opening. A pictorial certificate of authenticity and a statement of the information on the sleeve mark are included. Excellent, like new condition! GREAT AND VERY RARE! (Image)
