General Grant 1883 Invitation For Dinner With Porfirio Diaz, Mexican President - Printed invitation from General Grant to Mr. J. H. Work to have dinner and meet with the President of Mexico, General Porfirio Diaz. The dinner was held at the prestigious Union League Club in New York on April 4th, 1883. The New York Times ran a story the next day about the "dinner of uncommon elaborateness and brilliancy". Invitation is XF, envelope has slight edge toning. (Est $50-75) (Image)
