Leppard, East Street"; and a letter posted to Oxford (with original small env.) on illustrated writing paper with a detailed engraving of the front at Worthing from the sea (no inscription). MARITIME EPHEMERA: A box file containing a wide array of material inc. an attractive & colourful "STATE LINE FOR EUROPE" agents advertising card (glue dabs on back but readable); an 1847 leaflet outlining the "Rules & Regulations of the Maryport Steam Tug RAMBLER"; a 1774 account of revenue & expenses for the transportation of coal from Sunderland to London; an 1890 poster advertising mail carriage on the INMAN LINE; a 1778 document for the hiring of an indented crewman for a Durham coastal vessel; an Act of Parliament of 1824 regarding the repair of turnpike roads; plus a certificate of discharge, a permit for traveller, payment receipts, engravings of ships (some from the London Illustrated News & similar), souvenir books, postcards of ships (particularly Cunard vessels, some in silk), bills of lading, passenger lists, guide books, menus, a bundle of shipping company letterheads, etc. All in good to excellent condition.
