1907 Indian No Motto AU lightly polished w/ some residual hairlines. Interesting first-year type coin. The "No Motto" design, struck exclusively in 1907 and part of 1908, was executed in accordance with President Theodore Roosevelt's preference that the deity's name not be used on US coinage. However, it would eventually be added early in 1908. The "No Motto" coins display rather weak design details especially in 1907. This is normal and should not be confused with wear. The coin presented here is quite attractive despite a few minor flaws. (Image)
