G.B. 1915-18 Covers and cards from soldiers in hospitals in G.B (8, six with cachets, also three official notification of arrival at hospital cards with cachets), or from soldiers at British hospitals in France or Malta, with associated picture postcards, etc. Also a few prewar items with 1902 ½d wrapper to "H.M.S Warspite, Pacific" redirected to "R.N Hospital Esquinault", 1902 registered cover to a hospital in South Africa with a C.O.P for a parcel to the same address, 1900 front from South Africa with scarce oval "SOUTH AFRICAN FIELD FORCE / IRISH HOSPITAL", etc. (34).

France/Italy. 1914-18 Covers and cards from soldiers in hospitals in France (26) or Italy (5), also items from Russia (2) or Switzerland, some from British soldiers, various cachets including "HOSPITAL AUXILIAIRE ANGLO-ETHEOPIEN / FREVENT (P.DE.C)", etc. (34).

France - Ambulance Trains. 1914-18 Covers and cards from French Ambulance Trains (17, all with cachets) or U.S Sanitary Trains in France (3), picture postcards of ambulance trains (5) and 1918 L&S.W.R booklet about the American Ambulance Train No. 62 constructed at Eastleigh. Also a card from the Italian hospital train no.7 with cachet, and a 1939 press Photo of an ambulance train interior. (28).

Russia - Ambulance Trains. 1915-16 Stampless postcards with cachets of hospital trains 1, 8, 9, 31, 33, 113, 141, 2204 or 2226, or cachets of Red Cross ambulance trains (3), four of these trains named after members of the royal family, also cards sent under cover with cachets of hospital trains 1, 3 or 65, five with oval station datestamps. Austria. 1914-18 Covers and cards from soldiers in hospital in various parts of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, all with cachets, some registered, also an 1870 postcard with cachet of the military hospital at Teschen, an interesting collection. (178).

Austria - Ambulance Trains. 1914-18 Covers and cards from ambulance trains (32), 28 of these with cachets, seven of these from hospital trains operated by the Sovereign Grand Order of the Knights of Malta with the Maltese Cross of the Order in the centre of the cachets, also two postcards depicting trains. (34).

Germany. 1914-18 Covers and cards from soldiers in hospital, all with cachets, including mail from Poland, Rumania, etc. (81).

G.B - Southampton. 1914-16 Stampless covers and cards posted by troops at Southampton, two cards charged the single ½d deficiency, the others all treated as paid including Sept. 1914 cards with red "ARMY LETTER FREE" (3 types, one in three lines), other cards with red "SOUTHAMPTON / PAID" c.d.s (9) or machine, four of these with straight line or circular "ON ACTIVE SERVICE". Also a 1918 stampless card from a French soldier, posted from Southampton to France with violet circular "ADJUTANT / REST CAMP / 17 SEP. 1918 / Reg. No. / SOUTHAMPTON". (16).

G.B. 1914-20 Covers and cards including circular "PC" censor on cards probably from Antwerp (2), August 1914 covers and cards prepaid 1d or charged 1d postage due (3), 1915 cover from A.P.O S.Z.1 at Gallipoli with rare circular "CENSOR / No. 2866 / STAMP NOT AVAILABLE", 1917 cover from Egypt with circular dumb handstamp used in lieu of a censor mark, etc. (64).

G.B - Naval Mail. 1914-18 Covers and cards, various naval censor cachets and postmarks including named censors from H.M.S "Marmora", "Leonidas", "Orotava", "Powerful", censored cards cancelled at Helston or Larne harbour, two items unusually with two differing naval censors, also a few postwar items. (106).

1939-47 Covers including P.O.W mail, U.S forces in G.B with British stamps (81), Italian forces, 1945-47 Netherlands Indies, Australian forces, F.P.O 305 in Iceland, a few postwar, etc. (c.300).

G.B. 1939-45 Forces mail, including unusual naval censor marks (with Colley types N1401 used with an army censor from F.P.O 424, N1064, N537, N421 + N953), R.A.F Censors with types R16 (3, one unlisted number "4"), a few U.S and foreign items, also some postwar including 1956 (Nov. 2) cover from F.P.O 164 with scarce "R.A.F / CENSOR / 22" used during the Suez crisis. (122).

G.B. 1941 (Aug 6) Registered cover franked ½d + 5d, each cancelled by the unusual "L.P.R / 6 AUG 41 / LONDON C O / MOBILE P.O / No. 1" rubber type datestamps, two further strikes on reverse, London E.C registration label. Used in London E.C on this one day only at a Mobile P.O when the regular Post Office was damaged in the blitz.

G.B/Japan - P.O.W Mail. 1945 (Apr 24) 1½d Air Mail postal stationery Prisoner of War post card, posted from London to Signalman E.R Lammin in Hakodate Camp, Japan, with violet censored cachet of Hakodate and red censor chop (Tett type 6-11-202). This 1½d card was not issued until April 2nd 1945, and virtually none of these cards were received by P.O.Ws before the war ended in August; David Tett only records one other 1½d card with a Japanese censor, also sent to Hakodate.
