WORLD WAR I PRISONERS OF WAR MAIL: 1917 usage of 'Gefangenen=Lager, Bando (Japan)' PPC showing aerial view of the camp unfranked to Germany with a superb strike of the large oval 'Sec DES PRISONNIERS DE GUERRE' h/s in red, plus an excellent quartet of picture postcards produced by German POWs in Bando Camp all unfranked & with the same red h/s, two for Easter 1918 'Frohe Ostern' published by the 'Lagerdruckerei [Camp Printing Works] Bando' with multi-coloured images of Geisha with an umbrella standing at the camp fence and Easter Bunny with eggs arriving at camp buildings both sent to Germany, the other two with 'DEUTSCHE AUSTELLUNG [German Exhibition] BANDO 1918' cachets and artworks advertising the 'Austellung fur Bildkunst & Handfertigkeit' [Arts & Crafts] sent to Tokyo and to the USA with 'No charge for postage. Prisoner/of War Mail. New York, NY' h/s, a few very minor blemishes.
