Italy and area never hinged collection, a magnificent assembly cleanly mounted on album pages in various albums, the Italy Kingdom pages being attractively headed with Italian coat-of-arms embossing; to be remarked as an outstandingly infrequent feature is the fact that the collection is virtually all represented in never hinged condition, resulting in many considerably more valuable sets and values, starting with the early issues, also including marginal multiples, DLR issue with set displaying "Saggio" overprint mounted on official presentation paper, 1911 Unità d'Italia in imperforate proofs, 1922 Philatelic Congress, 1923 Manzoni set, 1928 "Filiberto" 1,25L perf. 13¾, etc., in this semi-modern period also some scarce varieties or unissued examples being represented, Airmails with 1930 7,70L Crociera Transatlantica, 1934 Official Airmail 10L, War Propaganda with 1942 unissued set, special delivery and parcel post stamps, postage dues including 1863 10c -even such early values are found n.h.-, some stamps with advertising labels, following with "Luogotenenza" including very rare 1945 2L on 25c with brownish red overprint n.h. (Sassone 525A) with Sorani certificate, varieties of the the 1943 "Lupa Capitolina" value mounted on 14 pages, Authorized Delivery Stamps with Coralit first issue, and S.A.B.E. set; Occupations with a small WWII representation comprising Albania with also postage dues, Cefalonia and Itaca with 1941 10L with Argostoli hand-overprint showing "Tipy" instead of "Typi" (Enzo Diena certificate), French Occupation of Fezzan with non-overprinted 1946-51 sets perf. and imperf. in corner-sheet examples, Campione, WWI Austrian occupation of Friuli-Veneto, "Irredenti" territories with Trentino-Alto Adige, also including a special section of local postage dues, Venezia-Giulia with first set complete with certificates, 1918 50c essay (Raybaudi certificate), Aegean Islands with local overprints, few C.L.N. issues (two certificates), postal stationery cards unused, etc., few duplication in some sections; in very fine to superb state of preservation, frequently exhibiting good centerings, -also including some marginal examples-, being additional characteristics which also led to highly recommend an accurate viewing of this lot, a must for such an outstanding collection which is very rarely offered to the market; about 75 certificates accompany most of the important positions in this assembly.
