Thrace. 1919 (June 12) rare postcard to Padua presumably sent by an Italian member of the garrison of the railway connecting Turkey with Bulgaria, posted at Dedeagach with Bulgaria 1919-20 15s, tied by bilingual dispatch cds, forwarded through Constantinople where the Italian censorship was applied; in addition a photo of the evacuation of Gallipoli on 18.11.22. 1923 (Jan 9) Postcard from an Italian carabiniere at Kara-Agac (south of Edirne) on mission controlling the separations between Greeks and Turks, sent to Naples, consigned to the military courier of the Orient Express line as confirmed by the Constantinople 1 1/2pi on 10c pair and the Trieste cds, where it was "disembarked" from the train and the stamps were cancelled with blue crayon cross as it was not valid for franking in Italy, with arrival machine cancel at base. 1923 (April 9) "Distaccamento Carabinieri Italiani di Costantinopoli" illustrated postcard from Karagats (in modern day Orestiada) to Naples, posted at the Greek P.O. with 5L pair and 50L tied by dispatch cds's, where it was censored with corresponding cachet adjacent in purple. (Image)
