Poland. 1919 (April 5) Cover from Cracow to Ferrara, sent by a member of the Italian Mission in Poland and forwarded by military courier to Vienna, where the "Comando Supremo/Regio Esercito Italiano" and the "Verificato per Censura" straight line were struck, franked by the sender with "Michetti" 25c, tied in transit in Italy by military P.M. cds. An extremely rare mail from Poland using this courier. (Image)

1919 (Sept 12) Postcard from Poznan (formerly Posen in Eastern Prussia, Germany, assigned to Poland by the Treaty of Versailles) to Como, with "Missione Militare Italiana in Polonia" double circle in violet with coat of arms without banderole, unnecessarily franked with "Germania" 20pf by the sender, French "F.M." slightly tying the franking, carried by French diplomatic bag to Paris with cds. An extremely rare combination with the Italian cachet, the French mail and the German stamp. (Image)

1920 (July 26) Laissez-passer signed by the Major head of the Military Staff of the Italian Military Mission in Polonia, with corresponding cachet in violet, indicating that the lawyer Emilio Pincherle was travelling with diplomatic courier and was in charge of the delivery of two bags from that Mission to the Ministry of War. A unique document proving the existence of the courier service with diplomatic status which served in various countries in the Inter-Wars period to forward the correspondence of the Italian missions, delivered to either local Italian military offices, Rome or civil/military P.O.'s in Veneto (in this case the courier travelled to Rome).
