Lubiana (Ljubljana). 1941 (May 24) Registered airmail cover from Ljubljana to the Italian Embassy in Buenos Aires, bearing on front 10d and airmail 10d (2), and on reverse 12d and airmail 5d, tied by dispatch cds's, "Certificados/Central/2" arrival handstamp on back. A very scarce cover for both the franking and the destination. (Image)

1941 (April 1st) Cover from Eisenerz (Germany) sent as "poste restante" to be collected by the addressee in Ljubljana P.O., taxed on 22 May -almost two months after dispatch, during which period Yugoslavia had been invaded and occupied by the Germans and Italians- with "Co. Ci." 1d overprinted postage due tied by red crayon cross and Ljubljana cds; one month later, on 24.6, was unclaimed and as such with bilingual instructional label tied by cds was sent back to sender. 1941 (June-July) Two franked covers taxed when the overprinted stamps were no longer valid after 24.6.41, one from Novo Mesto (21.6) in combination with Italy 1L postage due applied in Ljubljana, the other addressed to Italy with the franking uncancelled and highlighted with blue crayon, "T" below. 1941 Postal Stationery assembly of 16 items, including 12 overprinted with four different types, express usages, censorship and tax marking, plus another four without overprint, one with scarce "Ufficio Sprovvisto di Bollo" cachet, a rare illustrated Yugoslavian stationery card which was accepted as mixed franking with an overprinted stamp to complete the rate.
