I.F.S. SIRMOOR: 1889 India ½a postal stationery envelope with added 1885 6p blue-green (SG 7; Scott 5), sent from Majra to Lahore via Nahan. The stamp cancelled at Majra with a barrel-shaped boxed grid, the indicium with a Nahan squared circle of 25 FE. On reverse, octagonal cancels of Majra (25 FE) and Nahan (26 FE) and Lahore Delivery CDS of 28 FE. The envelope slightly reduced at left, and the front of the envelope with a closed tear, nonetheless an exceedingly rare combination cover of exhibition quality (Image)

SIRMOOR: 1887 (21 JUL) native cover from Majra to Lahore, franked on face at double rate by 1885-96 6p blue-green x 2 (one with small spike hole), tied by individual strikes of "S" in barred rectangle. On reverse, octagonal MAJRA (21 JUL) despatch and NAHAN (22 JUL) transit datestamp, with British Indian Nahan transit and Lahore (25 JL) delivery CDS alongside, and boxed "POSTAGE DUE / (1) ANNA", as Imperial postage had not been prepaid. Minor imperfections, but a very rare and desirable cover, with detailed ISES cert (2010). SG 7; Scott 5 (Image)
