GREGORY BLAXLAND: Family 'Holy Bible' [Oxford, 1822] with Gregory Blaxland's name crossed out rather heavily on flyleaf, presumably by his son William whose signature appears on the title page and again on the New Testament along with details of births of family members beginning with Eliza in 1800, covers detached but present. [Gregory Blaxland (1778-1853) was co-leader of the first successful crossing of the Blue Mountains by European settlers in 1813; the crossing out may well be a sign of William's anger at his father's suicide] (Image1)
