All with clear strikes of the Guildhall "Star" ds (various time codes). 1d pink envs. (2), one with hs "T" , one unaddressed, both with a fine strikes of the "Star" ds and the later with a fine strike of the large S. THE LONDON PHILATELIC EXHIBITION - A VERY RARE MENU: 19 May 1890 a rare example of the London Philatelic Exhibition printed menu bearing on the front stuck down examples of the 1d stamps issued between 1840 and 1890 inc. an unused 1d black plate ? DC with close to good margins on all sides. The menu is signed on reverse by J. G. Kellaway H.M. Postmaster 8/5/22. Some faults and a little soiled but very collectable and rare. (Image)

SOUTH KENSINGTON EXHIBITION - A SCARCE QUESTIONAIRE CARD: 2 July 1890 a piece of card (114 x 88 mm) with rounded corners addressed to "J.C. Bockenham/Poste Restante/S Kensington Exhibition" with proof-like impression of the crowned oval "PENNY POST JUBILEE/TUBE POST/3D/REPLY/SOUTH KENSINGTON MUSEUM" d.s. and on reverse the question "How are these cards selling? Reply/The Cards are selling very/well/A.G. Atterbury". Very scarce as only one other such card is recorded. (Image)

SOUTH KENSINGTON EXHIBITION REGISTERED MAIL: 2 July 1890 "G" size 2d registered env. uprated with 1d lilac, with a centrally struck S. Kensington Jubilee "Crown" c.d.s. used within London. An "H" size 2d registered env. of the same date bearing a 1d lilac cancelled by the large S. Kensington Jubilee "Crown" c.d.s. with another strike below. Another example of the "H" size envelope with a 1d venetian red tied by a clear S. Kensington "Crown" Jubilee c.d.s. but with address added later.
