1919, First Aerial Mail from England to Australia, cover addressed to a Mrs. Alford at Narandera, Australia. The envelope endorsed "Per Vickers Vimy Aeroplane Carried by Sgt. Shires", franked by Ross Smith "First Aerial Post" perforated label in blue tied by oval FIRST AERIAL MAIL/GREAT BRITAIN TO AUSTRALIA/RECEIVED/26 FEB 1920 in black with repeated strike at right, alongside faint violet "PER VICKERS "VIMY" AEROPLANE TO AUSTRALIA" rubber handstamp. Vetical fold in envelope clear off adhesive and some insignificant opening faults at bottom mentioned for accuracy. A fine and rare cover! Signed A.Diena (Image)

1896 Typeset 4a. black used in combination with British East Africa 2½a. blue on cover to Leamington, England. The 4a. tied by a manuscript line in red, with Initials of the sender below the 2½a. adhesive, which was tied by "MOMBASA/OC 10/97" cds, and '1 Nov 97' arrival cds on the reverse, fine. The Uganda 4a. paid the local postage only (as the country not being a member of the UPU at that time), while the BEA stamp paid the BEA internal and external postage to England. P. Holcombe cert.
