1844 (Sep 4) Cover to Hastings bearing a 1d red (three good margins, just touched lower left corner) tied by two fine strikes of the Maltese Cross, backstamped in London (Sep 6) and Hastings (Sep 7), recipients endorsement "Sept 4th 1844 (GHE)". This cover was first reported by O.W Newport in 1951 as being in the collection of the noted postal historian Col. Guy Crouch, and is number 12 in the Rockoff and Jackson listing, being the only 1843-44 period cover which showed no evidence of having arrived by ship at Southampton or to have originated in the Channel islands. However the recipient's endorsement indicates that the enclosed letter was written two days before the London backstamp, which would tie in with a Channel Islands origin. 7mm Tear at lower edge, otherwise fine and a rare cover, unusual in having two cancels, both of which are very clear. 1907 (Oct 12) Daily Graphic Ballon Post card unusually with drawings of three men shooting at the balloon, endorsed "Posted by Mr A.V Mickow, Mellerud, Sweden" with Mellerud c.d.s, "T" handstamp and 2d Foreign Branch charge mark; and the miniature eight page booklet depicting the balloon and aviators, dropped from the balloon whilst still over England. New South Wales. c.1845 Sydney 2d Post lettersheet with embossed seal of the colony, addressed to Castlereagh St., not cancelled and probably hand delivered, the inside with printed address of the Australian Assurance Office in George St., light horizontal fold, otherwise fine and a good example of this scarce early postal stationery lettersheet.

1870 (Nov 19) Printed "Lettre-Journal de Paris" No. 9 posted on the day of issue to St. Martins, Guernsey "via angleterre" franked 40c well tied by numeral "2", Paris R. St. Lazare c.d.s, red "PD" and a fine Guernsey arrival backstamp (Nov 25), flown on the "L'Archimede". 1871 (Jan 16) Entire letter written at St. Helier, Jersey, addressed to Paris endorsed "Par Moulins", posted at Chateauroux on January 24th franked imperf Bordeaux issue 20c + 80c (2 or 3 margins) paying the special If rate, tied by retta cancels, never sent by "Moulin" despite the endorsement as the Siege of Paris ended just four days after posting, delivered after the siege with Feb. 12th Paris arrival backstamp.
