In addition to a comprehensive review of the topography and layout of Grasmere, Dove Cottage and the church (interior, exterior and worshippers), the pages inc. images of the rush-bearing festival c.1910 in both original and repro. (usually John Marsh) cards, various sports events, hotels in and around the town (some advertising cards), local celebrities, very local landmarks, vehicles, etc. Many are real photo types and all in very fine condition. Inc. post boxes under Ambleside (1 binder), post boxes under Windermere (1 binder) and town & village P.O.s alphabetically arranged (2 binders). All post box photos mounted on display leaves with standardised description inc. Name, Box no., Address, Area, Postcode, Type, and Cypher. Post Office photos mounted on display leaves, identified and frequently supplemented by additional information or contemporary copies of older PPCs showing the office.
