'DEPARTMENTALS': 'Medical' Handstamp diagonally in violet on 1d rose-pink tied by 1902 GPO cds to the reverse of what is apparently a complete tiny wrapper, 'FREMANTLE' arrival b/s, a little stained. An extremely rare 'Medical' "entire".
1883 (Mar 21) cover to Massachusetts with 6d mauve tied by 15-bar '6' cancel of 'ALBANY' (cds alongside), endorsed "Via San Francisco" but carried via London (transit b/s of AP23/83), New York transit b/s plus three different tax markings & 'NORTH EASTHAM/MAY/5/1883/MASS' arrival cds all on the face, Postage Due 3c pale brown Scott #J3 pair with mss "H" cancels on the flap, a few blemishes. Offered with a second light example on 1d showing part of the base inscription '[...]ALIA' so it can't be from NSW]
