1857 (Feb 14) use of imperf 6d Woodblock x4 on ¾-1oz entire to London via Marseilles, endorsed "1/-" in red and "p Simla". There was an additional 3d per ¼oz using this route, hence the endorsement. 1898 inwards home-made cover from Richmond, Virginia to Melbourne endorsed Via San Francisco, stamped with 2c Washington x2 &, unusually, 1c Franklin 'I.R.', Vancouver transit and Melbourne arrival on back. Not known, Unclaimed & List Room handstamps on face. Unclaimed instructions were to forward to Dundee, Scotland, but there is no indication this was done. Quite interesting. (Image1)
