1899-1900 De La Rue Pictorials ½d to 6d imperforate colour trials in the issued colours on unwatermarked paper. A unique and important set.
68 separate colour trials were produced: each is unique, which causes us to believe that they are all die proofs, not plate proofs, reduced to stamp-size to enable the Agent-General to easily compare the trials for each denomination. All are illustrated in "The De La Rue Collection" edited by Frank Walton RDP.

1905-12 Litho Crown/A 6d lake Perf 12½ (marginal from the base of the sheet, the lower units unmounted) & Perf 11 (one unit unmounted) ACSC #T57 & 58 (SG 248 & 248a) blocks of 4, large-part o.g., Cat $1000++ (£700++) for mounted singles.
(2 blocks)
1905-11 Electrotype Crown/A 1d marginal Imperforate Pair ACSC T14b (SG 250f) from the left of the sheet, CTO with 'HOBART/AP30/1908/TASMANIA' cds, Cat $600 (£750). [CTO examples are much scarcer than mint. This is the pair illustrated in the ACSC]
1905-11 Electrotype Crown/A Perf 12½ 6d Dilston Falls 'CA' & 'JBC' Monogram strips of 3 from the lower-right & upper-right corners of the sheet respectively ACSC #T60zb & z, well centred, large-part o.g., grossly undercatalogued at $400 each: the only such strips we have seen. [The First Wmk 6d Roo monogram strips of 3 are catalogued at $10,000 each, and that stamp was used throughout Australia. It seems incomprehensible that these strips, issued only in the smallest State, should be worth a mere 4% of their Kangaroo cousins]
