1915, MAFIA ISLAND, 3 Pies to 1 Rupie India I.E.F. stamps with additional ovp 'G.R. POST MAFIA' in dull blue, complete set with 10 values, tied by five strikes of cds MAFIA, 17 AU 16, on registered O.H.M.S. cover addressed to Nairobi, transit dater Mombasa (AU 27) and arrival mark Nairobi (AU 29) on reverse. Envelope with vertical fold (just affecting 2 1/2 a value), else fine condition. An attractive and very rare cover. Only 159 stamps of the 1 Rupie and 160 stamps of the 12 A stamp were issued! 1917, lot with ca.40 picture postcards, comprising many interesting views and scenes, more than half of the cards are used including 16 cards with British Forces cancellation 'F.P.O.N°343', some with censor cachet Dar-es-Salaam, mostly F/VF condition. (Image)

1917/1922, G.E.A.-overprints: comprehensive collection, comprising complete mint sets KGV definitives SG 45-62 and SG 63-68, including varieties 1 C, 10 C and 12 C, each with inverted and reversed watermark (SG 45ay, 49y, 50y), 10 R red/green on emerald back (SG 60a) and other color varieties. In addition both sets with ovp SPECIMEN and 22 stamps mounted on archival pieces (SG ex 45/68) with ovp SPECIMEN together with violet handstamp 'COLONIAS'. 1919/1950, interesting postal history collection with 24 covers from TABORA, comprising many valuable items starting with "G.E.A." overprints, included are 3 covers from 1919 with scarce manuscript cancelation (Proud 1000 points), one of them with unusual mixed franking 3 C green (SG 47) together with British India I.E.F. 2 A purple (SG E5) on cover to Kigoma. Furthermore Tabora (Proud D2) pmk on registered mail, unrecorded type D2 with gap between "T and A" on cover to Germany, censored mail etc. Also included are registered postal stationery envelopes, i.a. 30 C KGV insured pse addressed to Dar-es-Salaam and uprated with a total of 415 cents, early airmail to Europe and many other specialities.
