1847 Lady Macleod Steamship (5c) blue local. UN appearance, cleaned pen cancel & repaired, almost 4 margins. SG 1 cat £30,000 for M & £10,000 for U. This stamp was issued in April 1847, making it the 1st stamp ever issued by a British Colony (pre dating the Post Office Mauritius by 5 months). It was used on the owner David Bryce's Steamship for mail between Port of Spain & San Fernando. Extremely rare & world famous classic! BPA photo cert. (P)
