1879 (circa.) 5c Charles Connell + 10c Queen Victoria "Goodall" Compound Die Proof in immaculate condition, printed in orange red on india paper sunk on card measuring 90 x 64mm, showing complete die sinkage area with respective die numbers "72" and "73" below designs. A fabulous and very rarely seen large compound die proof that will instantly become a highlight of a British North America collection, XF

Provenance: J.R. Saint, June 2000; Lot 603 - one of the gems of this sale, it was featured on the front cover of the auction catalogue.

The current Unitrade catalogue value of $6,000 is in our opinion irrelevant as most of the handful that still exist are much smaller in size. This extraordinary example should deservingly command a substantial premium. (Image)
