15c Large Queen Large Engraved Trial Colour Die Proof printed in black on india paper measuring 32 x 37mm. A very rare and striking proof; outstanding in all respects and missing from even the most advanced collections, XF (Minuse & Pratt 29TC1a)

We are aware of the existence of only three other die proofs of the Fifteen cent in black. One is of larger size (sold in 2014 for $27,000 hammer). The remaining two, one of which displays foxing, are somewhat similar in size to the example offered here. To the best of our knowledge die proofs in the issued colour do not exist.
