LONDON & BRIGHTON/SOUTHERN RAIL ETC. 1878-1930s COLLECTION IN A BINDER - neatly written-up, inc. 1876 env. to London with 1d red plates tied "F37" Gensing Road duplex; 1902 2d reg. env. to Brighton with ½d blue green (2) tied LINCOLN reg. ovals, DERBY reg. oval applied in transit and L&BSC "DAY DOWN" cds on the back; 1905 PPC ex India sent unpaid to Hove with ringed "T" and "2d/F.B."; 1905-20 trio of PC ex Dieppe with French 10c red stamp[s tied by "LONDON/MB" cds; 1907 PPC to Hove with ½d green tied THRAPSTON cds, L&BSC cds below, with printed cricket report glued on and marked 'Contrary to Regulations' and "1d/798" both later erased; 1914 censored env. to Brighton with red ringed "PASSED BY CENSOR/[crown]/No.386" and L&BSC cds on the back; 1929 env. to Paris sent express with 1½d (2) & 6d (20 stamps tied "R.S.C." cds; etc. (c104 items)Cross Reference: REGISTERED MAIL, POSTAGE DUE MARKS, EXPRESS (Image)
