1901 (July 13) Boer War usage of British 2d Registration Envelope to Largs Bay endorsed "From/Lt [?]/IBC" at upper-left, ORC 1d & 6d Surcharges tied by 'HEILBRON/ORC' cds, 'Passed Censor' h/s in violet, Cape Town transit & Adelaide arrival b/s of AU20/01, repaired flap fault. POSTAL CARDS: c.1891 skilfully rendered essay in India ink & China white for a proposed 2d issue, artist's pseudonym 'Finis Coronat Opus' at L/L, the reverse with a rough sketch for a different design & 'South Australia/POST CARD' heading slightly affected by a surface abrasion where removed from a backing page. Delightful! [Most so-called postal stationery essays from South Australia are amateurish efforts that can best be described as rubbish. This is an entirely different standard of work, offered at what should prove to be a very conservative estimate]
Box of covers mostly Tatts mail & Shierlaw fronts but many from other sources & lots of PPCs & Postal Cards (and a very fine 1d Envelope to Switzerland), apparently all-different CDS & squared-circles including a good number of scarce strikes, condition variable. Ex 'Tamiami'.
