1899 (Nov 6) OPSO cover with 'Police Commissioner's Office' imprint at lower-left, to British Guiana with rare franking of Perf 10 '5D.' on 6d brown overprinted 'O.S.' SG O72 (Cat £18 x50+ on cover) tied by GPO cds, 'VICTORIA/BC' squared-circle transit b/s & 'GEORGETOWN/DEC29/B.GUIANA' arrival b/s, central fold & minor repaired tears at the top well clear of the stamp. Ex Anthony Presgrave. A remarkable destination & stated to be one of only three covers recorded with this stamp.

1860-69 Second Roulettes 'TEN PENCE' in Black on 9d yellow Surcharge Inverted (at Top) SG 37a, rouletting on all sides (slightly into the design at places), very fine GPO cds of OC--/69 clear of the surcharge, Cat £7000. An attractive example of this famous error of which Shilling Violet No 16 (Sep 1989) noted the existence of a mere 15 examples (not including Peter Jaffé's unique pair). RPSofL Certificate (1934). [The Frazer/Lionheart example - with the overprint obscured by the Adelaide cds - sold in 2005 for $4945. Harry Lower's example with small thin & professionally repaired sold at the Prestige auction of 12.5.2007 for $5750. Michael Blake's very fine but poorly centred example sold at the Prestige auction of 7.2.2014 for $10,350]
