POSTAL CARDS: c.1891 skilfully rendered essay in India ink & China white for a proposed 2d issue, artist's pseudonym 'Finis Coronat Opus' at L/L, the reverse with a rough sketch for a different design & 'South Australia/POST CARD' heading slightly affected by a surface abrasion where removed from a backing page. Delightful! [Most so-called postal stationery essays from South Australia are amateurish efforts that can best be described as rubbish. This is an entirely different standard of work, offered at what should prove to be a very conservative estimate]
