PENNY POST NOT PAID"; 29 July 1783 EL (slight toning of flap; small flap corner repair by seal) from the Edinburgh "Excise Office" (ref. a law suit) to a local Edinburgh lawyer with a very fine (especially for this) circular undated Peter Williamson "*E. PENNY POST NOT PAID" charge-mark across the join on the reverse. A significant usage showing that the Edinburgh establishment regularly used the 'unofficial' Williamson Post. (Image)
