BLACKFORD & THE POST: A beautifully presented and well written-up 16 page display (+ extras) on the opening of the post office in 1845, subsequent closure in 2008, and aftermath. Includes ELs from Blackford sent via Auchterarder - 1821 to Edinburgh rated 1/4½ with mainly fine boxed mileage mark "AUCHTER/ARDER/53-E" & 1830 to Bannockburn rated 7½ with fine straight-line "AUCHTERARDER" - both carried by foot to Bridge of Ardoch (Braco) then horse post to Stirling, a Parcel Post label with a v. fine "BLACKFORD/F/JY 1/09/381" cds, PPCs of the town inc. the post offices (2), scenes of Moray Street, various buildings, general over views, and the surrounding country, many postally used from Blackford. Also, documents and photographs of the closure and mobile post office replacement. A very complete account.
