RARE COMPLETE GREEN WRAPPER: A "REGISTERED LETTER" wrapper (corner & edge faults) for Postmasters to enclose registered mail with a fine "EAST GRINSTEAD/MR22/1849/A" double arc hs on back flap with similar on form (on reverse of wrapper) along with 2 red London "E1/21MR21/1849" cds's but form not completed. SUSSEX - RARE REGISTERED 2d BLUE EMBOSSED POSTAL STATIONERY ENVELOPE; Jan. 1849 usage of a large part 2d Blue env. (front plus top flap; very scarce used anyway) from "WOR[THING]" (part c.d.s. on flap) to Godalming cancelled by an unclear "923" numeral with red manuscript "Registered 6" (paid in cash) on the front. The only such 1840s registered 2d envelope usage that we can recall having seen. Rare in any condition. Also 13 Mar. 1869 1d pink env. to London uprated 4d, cancelled by a Worthing 923 Duplex, with "REGISTERED/S.E.D.O." h.s. on front and same mark on rear, stamped on arrival.
