1868-78 Crown/Q Perf 12 2d ultramarine SG 86 horizontal pair, the R/H unit with a closed tear, large-part o.g., Cat £170+. A very scarce & underrated shade.
1868-78 Crown/Q Perf 12 6d yellow-green SG 106 block of 9 from the top of the sheet, the upper units with Horizontal Watermark Line Only (Crown/Q Omitted), minor stains/tonespots, large-part o.g., Cat £2250++.
1882 Large Chalons "Set" of 2/- x4 - one with the rarely seen '...WILKINSON & CO BANK NOTE ENGRAVER...' imprint below) & 2/6d Imperf Plate Proof singles in the approved colours for the five values, a few small separation faults. Rare. [The inclusion of the 2/6d in green is consistent with Basset Hull's statement at page 158 that this was the only colour in which the 2/6d was printed, and that there was no 2/- in this colour. Bernie Manning's similar very fine set - none with the imprint - sold for $4194. NB: the proofs were printed in London; the imprint was burnished-off the plates before the stamps were printed in Brisbane] (5)

1897-1908 Figures in Four Corners ½d die proof similar to the approved design but with the figures in the four corners at a 45 degree angle in blue-green on thin wove paper with part papermaker's watermark '...D STA...', endorsed in pencil "Not appd 1898", small piece of adhesive tape at the top from where the proof was attached to the printer's record book. Ex Colonel Harrie Evans: sold for $4300. [Bernie Manning's similar die proof of the approved design - minor blemishes; also Ex Colonel Evans - sold for $5126]
1897-1908 Figures in Four Corners 2½d rose-pink SG 236 lower half-sheet of 60 split vertically into two blocks of 30, some mostly minor blemishes, virtually full o.g. with most units being unmounted, Cat £1020++ for mounted singles.
1897-1908 Figures in Four Corners 2½d perforated Plate Proof blocks of 4 on gummed watermarked (mostly inverted) paper in twelve different colours ACSC #Q50(PP)1A-U group including in turquoise (the issued colour), a couple of minor gum blemishes but generally very fine with large-part o.g., Cat $14,400+ as singles. [The ACSC confirms that plate proofs of the 2½d design were printed as colour trials for the new 2/- value. Bernie Manning's seven such blocks sold for $1747]
(Qty 12 blocks)
1897-98 Experimental Separations Plain Zigzag Roulettes 1d carmine-vermilion SG 257 block of 30 (5x6) from the L/R corner of the sheet, one unit in the top row damaged, full unmounted o.g., Cat £570++ for mounted singles. An unusually fine multiple: most large blocks have separation issues & other faults.
1897-98 Experimental Separations Rouletted in Black & Perf 12½,13 1d red SG 260 tied to local cover - a bit aged - by Brisbane duplex of 23MY/10, a few toned perf tips, Cat £95 x10+ on cover. A very rare franking. [The late usage suggests a philatelic origin. However, the Type 9 duplex is recorded 1899-1907 only & we suggest that the year slug '01' was inserted upside-down, which was quite a common occurrence]
1906-10 'COMMONWEALTH' Crown/A 9d brown & blue Perf 11 Type B ACSC #Q45B (SG 285), well centred, a couple of minor blemishes, light 1911 cds cancel, Cat $3000 (£800). Rare.
