1862 (Aug 12) cover to Scotland "via Southampton" with rare franking of Clean-Cut Perf 14-16 6d green SG 9 horizontal pair & obvious Rays '131' of 'GLADSTONE' (very fine b/s), Brisbane transit & Glasgow arrival b/s of OC20/62, minor blemishes. [Carried per 'Madras' ex Sydney 22.8.1862; 'Candia' ex Galle 18.9.1862; & 'Valetta' ex Alexandria 7.10.1862, arrived Southampton 19.10.1862. This cover was actually paid at the 1/- via Marseilles rate that applied 1.8.1862 to 31.7.1863 only. Alan Griffiths' similar via Marseilles cover sold on 24.10.2012 for £1680]

1860 Large Star Clean-Cut Perf 14-16 6d green SG 6 horizontal pair, very well centred, minor blemishes & the first unit with a few trimmed perfs at the base, unused, Cat £2800+. [Bernie Manning recorded only two unused blocks of 4 - one of which is in the Royal Collection - and his pair. This pair is better-centred and, in our opinion, more attractive than Manning's pair - the first unit of which has a tiny surface blemish - that sold at the Prestige auction of 12.5.2007 for $9200]
1868 Crown/Q (Wmk '5') Watermark complete sheet of 240 impressions (12x20) with 'QUEENSLAND POSTAGE' four times in the margins, very fine 'PASSED/5MAY68/[initials]'-in-circle h/s in red, a little aged along the folds otherwise remarkably fine.
1880 Lithographed High Values 2/- imperforate plate proof strip of 3 (a rare multiple), apparently unused 2/-, 2/6d x3, 5/-, 10/- bistre x2 & 20/-, a couple with part- to large-part o.g., also apparently postally used 2/-, 10/- bistre & 20/-, some fiscal usages including 2/- with the Watermark Inverted and a set with 'SPECIMEN' h/s, condition variable, Cat £5900 if all genuine, plus the proof strip. Offered strictly 'as is'.
