CAPE OF GOOD HOPE: 1901 cover from 'COLESBERG' to "Commandant/Graff Reinett" with huge 'OFFICE OF COMMANDANT No 11 AREA.../COLESBERG' cachet in blue & very fine 'PASSED PRESS CENSOR/25DEC1901/ GRAAFF REINET' cachet (Christmas Day) in violet, forwarded to "Middelburg" (b/s) then to Cape Town ('..ARMY BASE CAPE TOWN' b/s), 'NO ADDRESS/ARMY POST OFFICE' cachet & apparently endorsed "Killed" & forwarded to "Longwood/ Victoria" with poor 'LONGWOOD RLY STN' & fine 'LONGWOOD EAST' arrival b/s. A remarkable Boer War cover. [The endorsement "Killed" is actually "Killeen", the Chomley Family property at Longwood!]
