Numerals collection on Kangaroos & KGV Heads stated to comprise numbers rated RR x2, RRR x11, RRRR x31 & RRRRR x40, many fine to superb strikes but some are questionable, some on cover. A very difficult lot to assemble. For the list of rated items, see our website.
NB: Bernie Manning provides separate rarity ratings for usage of numerals on Colonial/State and CofA issues. This approach skews the ratings, with many numbers that are common pre-1913 being used for only a short time after that and thus rated highly in the later period. (This is the same approach as used for Tasmanian datestamps.) However, many of the higher numbers are extremely rare across both periods.

'783' of an unknown office, largely superb strike on KGV 1d red. Rated RRRRR: illustrated by Bernie Manning. [Prior to the discovery of this example, the highest recorded number was, and remains, '749'. The existence of '783' raises the possibility that all numbers between '750' and '783' were allocated, possibly to receiving offices, but this is mere speculation.
Baree: Manuscript "Baree/25-12-13" (Christmas Day; RO period) three times on Kangaroo ½d & 1d pair, on cover to USA with the ½d overstruck with Rockhampton machine of 26DEC13. Superb! RO 1901; PO c.1917. One of the best Receiving Office covers we have seen.
Burdekin (1): 'BURDEKIN/13.12/67/QUEENSLAND' cds (LRD; rated RRRR & the only recorded example with numeric month) on 1867 outer to London with Chalons 6d yellow-green & Rays '40', very fine 'TOWNSVILLE' transit & fair Brisbane transit b/s, London arrival cds of MR30/68 in red on the face. Burdekin (1) 1.4.1864; renamed Dalrymple 1868. This is the only recorded "tie" of Rays '40' to Burdekin. [Burdekin is 1250km NNW of Brisbane, a little SE of Townsville]
