1915 The Daily Telegraph (Tasmania) complete newspaper of 'June 14, 1915' posted to Williamstown (Vic) with address hand-written at U/L of title page and KGV ½d green affixed alongside tied by complete but poorly struck 'POSTAGE PAID/LAUNCESTON TAS' cds in black (Hardinge Type 1c(iv) rated RRRRR), the stamp with minor creasing, the newspaper with minor edge faults & aging marks, plus another edition of 'March 4, 1915' posted to same addressee with Kangaroo ½d green tied by poor Launceston duplex cancel, this one with more extensive aging marks. Scarce survivors showing that newspaper wrappers were not always available or used. (Qty 2)

1920 long envelope with 'OHMS' header, printed endorsement 'Packet Post' and violet oval 'Clerk of Petty Sessions/Gatton' cachet added at L/L, sent to student at Queensland Agricultural College, Gatton with KGV 1½d brown tied 'GATTON/14AU20/...' cds, returned undeliverable endorsed "Left College/address unknown" supposedly re-posted into the Southern & Western Railway TPO box at the nearby station with very fine strike of 'T.P.O.7.S&W.R/UP 17AU20/...' cds applied on face although it appears never to have travelled by train, then held at Gatton for almost two months until sent to Brisbane with 'UNCLAIMED/GATTON' h/s and 'DEAD LETTER OFFICE/120C20/BRISBANE' arrival on face even though the sender's endorsement - in Gatton - is right there alongside, tiny bit of back flap missing otherwise very fine. Bizarre!; see lenghty write-up included; the original contents - a 'Notice of Objection Lodged by Electoral Registrar' in that "...you do not live in Queensland" - enclosed. (Qty 2 items)
