Homewood (BM 1889-1924) fair-good A-type cds (ring complete) 4 AU 20 on GV 1½d red-brown lettercard (2 file holes). Of the office name, "HOM-" is clear but only the tops of the other letters are present. Charged postage due as rate rose to 2d from 29 JL 1920. With "TO PAY 1d ..." circular h/s & 1d P Due added & canc undated Wellington A-type cds. Fine, apart from the punch holes. Very scarce d/s.

This d/s used provisionally 11-19 Jan 1915 by NZ Mounted Rifles Brigade in Egypt (following initial use on HMNZ Transport No. 8 "Star of India" during voyage from NZ). Very scarce item.
