Post-WWII pre-decimal advertising covers mostly with imprints only but many are illustrated including a number of very attractive items, the collection is from GB so many are addressed there mostly by air with some better frankings including ANZAC 2/3d single & a pair on a registered cover, generally fine to very fine. A really appealing lot.

1901 unused envelope with very fine 'GOVERNOR-GENERAL/[arms]/FRANK STAMP/AUSTRALIA' h/s in blue & embossed arms in blue on the flap. The only unused envelope we have seen.
1921 (Dec 1) usage of KGV 5d Registration Envelope to New Zealand with Kangaroo Third Wmk 6d blue tied by Sydney cds, red RL label. [The rate was 2d per ½oz x4 + 3d registration. NB: the stamp appears to have Extensive Retouching at Left, especially in the upper-half. No such variety is recorded in the ACSC]
1927 'Illustrated Souvenir of the visit of/...the Duke & Duchess of York' with 18 fold-out Sydney views, to Estonia with KGV 1½d tied by Sydney cds, minor defects & light toning.
1934 (Dec 11) form for 'RECEIVED TELEGRAM' from Sydney with 'DARWIN/NT' cds, with the envelope to Scotland endorsed "RECEIVED AT DARWIN FOR ONWARD TRANSMISSION BY AIR MAIL" with scarce 'PAID/DARWIN NT' cds. The first Australia-England flight departed Brisbane 10.12.1934 per "Hippomenes"; then per "Arethusa" ex Darwin 12.12.1934.

[The All Up airmail rate was 1/9d + 3d registration]
1936 (June 9) long registered airmail cover to London with Kangaroos 9d 2/- x2 5/- & 10/- tied by 'REGISTERED/ SYDNEY NSW' cds, some creasing & the stamps with minor faults. The rate was 1/6d per ½oz x13 = 19/6d + 3d registration.
1936 (Aug 8) long registered airmail cover (304x152mm) to London with Kangaroos 9d 2/- & £1 grey - Cat $5000 on cover - tied by 'REGISTERED/SYDNEY NSW' cds, some creasing that affects the stamps. The rate was 1/6d per ½oz x15 = £1/2/6d + 3d registration.
1936 (June 16) long registered airmail cover (304x152mm) to London with Kangaroos 9d 2/- 5/- 10/- & £1 grey - Cat $5000 on cover - tied by 'REGISTERED/SYDNEY NSW' cds, some creasing that affects the stamps still a dramatic & very attractive franking. The rate was 1/6d per ½oz x25 = £1/17/6d + 3d registration.
1938 (Mar 10) double-rate commercial cover to South West Africa with scarce franking of 5/- Roo (rounded corner) + Large Kooka 6d tied by Brisbane cds, minor faults. [The All Up rate was 2/9d per ½oz to South Africa & accepted at that rate]
