Postmarks c1890-1980s (mostly pre-WWII), accum of approx 700 on stamp or piece, on 12 s/b pages. Many are only part strikes (some barely legible), hence modest estimate. Some better items noted here & there.

Adam's Flat (DN 1872-1908) good part strike (-DAM'S FLAT), of A-type cds ?1 FE 93 on 2d SSF & similar strike (-AMS FLAT) ? DE 90 on damaged 1d SSF. Very scarce.

Culverden (CH 1885-1991) A-type cds on SSF 1d or 2d on 1890s covers x 10 (horiz folds) to Union Bank in Christchurch. Good to fine strikes.

Feilding RMPO No 1 (PM 1915-1918) clear part strike of J-type cds (FEILD-R.M.P.O. N-) 23 DE 15 on GV ½d on piece. Rural mail travelling PO . Rare.

New Plymouth, clear cds (B type) MR 3 1869 on FFQ 4d yellow. 2 missing perfs. Stamp GU but very fine strike.

New Brighton (CH) & Upper Riccarton (CH) good/fine strikes of A-type cds 30 MY 05, 24 DE 07 respectively. Also Naseby (DN), fine strikes of H-type cds 26 JL 07, 28 DE 07. All on 1d Universals on PPCs.

NZ Industries Fair, Christchurch C.1, good complete cds 5 AU 44 (1st day) on pictorial commem cover. Typed address. Temporary PO open 5-19 AU 44 only. Fine.

Papawai Military Camp, fine 5 JL 19 double ring cancel on (damaged) 1d Dom on large piece. Scarce.

Show & Industrial Fair Wellington, fine complete cds 31 MY 52 (last day) on plain cover. Temporary PO open only 8-31 MY 52. Fine.

Thornbury (IN 1881-1988), 1902 reg'd cover to USA, franked 5 x 1d Universal & ½d, canc 6 strikes (2 good, rest fair) of A-type cds 7 JL 02. 2 b/s incl Invercargill reg'd octagonal d/s (red). Nice cond.

Waiuku (AK 1855- ) good fairly complete strike of "A/59" barred obliterator on 2d SSF, p10.

1895 cover to Union Bank in Christchurch franked 2d SSF canc Sheffield A-type cds 15 DE 95. Suspected of containing banknotes, so compulsorily registered. With NZ "Found Open/Officially sealed" label & detailed "Caution" label (ptg. no. "2350"). M/s "Comp. Regd. 10d to pay" & blue pencil regn. lines added. Some subsequent bank notation. Slightly cut down & front and back stuck together.

1900 Portugal 10R p/c sent from Lourenco Marques (in modern Mozambique,) to NZ. Added Lourence Marques 2½R pair & 5R adhesives canc cds "21 MAI 09" (should be year "00"). Hexagonal "5" postage due marking, Durban transit cds 28 MY 00 & Sydney cds 11 JY 00. NZ 1d due marking & 1d PD canc Auckland cds 19 JL 00. Several faults (fragile card). Highly unusual origin for mail to NZ.

1906 cover Argentina to NZ, franked 6c stamp canc. Bahia Blanca cds (date unclear). "T" postage due marking with m/s "15". Later NZ "TO PAY 3d...."due marking, 1d &2d Postage Due stamps canc Kirikiriroa 28 MR 06 & 2nd strike (with Hamilton cds) on back. Unusual pictorial cover with art nouveau design, headed "Tarjeta Postal" (Post card). Circular cutout at upper right to display stamp on enclosed PPC (which is no longer present). Despite this private initiative, the PPC had to be sent at the higher envelope rate. Some faults, but rare.

1892 registered cover to GB "via Frisco" (m/s), franked 6d FSF (very late use) & ½d Newspaper dull rose (late use of thin paper, star wmk variety), canc Christchurch A type cds 20 JA 92 & separate (illegible) barred obliterator. Two receipt b/s. The postage is puzzling: at this time, basic letter rate postage to GB was 2½d per ½ ounce, regn was 6d extra. Possibly 6d mistaken for 8d SSF? Fine and attractive.

1893 cover (unsealed) to USA, franked ½d newspaper canc fine AUCKLAND F-type d/s 25 FE 93. Good condition.

1901 neat cover to Novgorod, Russia, franked 1½d Boer War p11 & pair ½d Mt Cook p11, canc 2 Morrinsville A-type cds 24 JUL 01, m/s "Via Frisco". B/s Auckland cds & 3 Russian cds. Unusual destination. Nice condition.

1902 New Zealand Ocean Mail Timetables, 2½ x 3¾ inches booklet printed by John Mackay Government Printer (5,200/1/02-897]) 22 pages with postal rates & sailing dates to Vancouver, London, France etc.

1870 cover, 3d FFQ (perf), p12½ with Napier duplex JU 30/70 to Miss Earp, Boscobel Farm, Porirua, Wellington (with contents), endorsed "per Taranaki" & Wellington/AU4/70 b/s.

1873 printed "On Public Service Only" stampless long cover, printed "Otago Gold Fields" at lower left crossed out & m/s "[??] School, Caversham, 28/1/73" over top, illegible blue pencilled m/s frank, Dunedin "O" duplex pmk JA 30 73, to local address. Light vert fold & light overall soiling. 2 pieces of tape on back.

1876 Wellington A class 31 MR 76 duplex on 2d FSF on cover with "WI1", temporary A type cds of Otaki AP? 76. Letter addressed to Otaki. Very few known.
