1908-10 (circa) Lancashire Fabric Mills real photo group with Howard & Bullough factory scenes x4 (one creased); an amazing photo of snow covering machinery at Thornbers; and RE Buckley (Mossley) of male & female 'knocker-uppers' - whose job was to awaken the sleeping mill-hands - with captions in Lancashire dialect; unused. A very scarce group. (Qty 7)

1910 (circa) real photo card showing 'Sanders Bros, The Peoples Corn Flour Market' storefront with display of oatmeal, prunes, salmon and other foodstuffs in window & manager standing in doorway dressed in shop coat, unused, fine condition with just a couple of very minor blemishes. [Established in 1887, Sanders Bros. was the UK's largest chain of corn, flour, seed and general produce merchants by the time if was publicly floated in 1925, trading from 154 branches in London and the surrounding area with more retail stores than Sainsbury or Tesco and a stock market value higher than Marks & Spencer; in the early 1950s it was taken over by a group of investors, broken up & liquidated]
