POSTAL HISTORY: Accumulation including stampless cover sent from Romford, Essex to London July 18, 1820, backstamped dated July 20, 1820, 11 Victoria postal stationery cards used 1870 to 1894, good range of interesting cancellations, also 1870 ½d with indistinct plate number on cover, dated May 1879, some faults to the stamp, group of 66 Edward VII picture postcards with a range of postmarks, mixed condition, mostly fine. BISHOPS MARKS: Four covers, 1734 Edinburgh to Boulogne,France, with two small marks, one in dark red approx 15mm with the MONTH above the DAY and a 15mm in black, with the Day above the MONTH. Also 1774 Oxford to Coventry with 19mm mark, with DAY above MONTH, 1775 from Brighthelmston (now BRIGHTON), with DAY above the MONTH and 1784 France to London, with a foreign section of the General Post Office using the MONTH above the DAY.
